🎯 Role at a Glance
• The Fundraising Chair is a voting member of the PTO Board who provides leadership for planning, coordinating, and overseeing PTO fundraising efforts.
• This role works closely with the PTO Board, school Administration, volunteers, and community partners to ensure fundraising initiatives are thoughtful, inclusive, and aligned with school priorities and financial goals.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
• Serve as an active, voting member of the PTO Board
• Lead planning and execution of PTO fundraising initiatives throughout the school year
• Collaborate with school Administration and the PTO Board to align fundraising efforts with school needs and priorities
• Develop fundraising timelines, goals, and volunteer needs
• Recruit, coordinate, and support fundraising volunteers and committees
• Work closely with the Treasurer/Finance Chair to create budgets, track revenue, and reconcile funds
• Coordinate vendors, platforms, sponsors, and community partners as needed
• Ensure fundraising activities are inclusive, transparent, and accessible to all families
• Lead post-fundraiser wrap-ups, reporting, and documentation for future planning
🕒 Term Length
• Two (2) year term
• Eligible for renewal per PTO bylaws
👥 Experience & Fit
• Ideally a parent or caregiver who has been part of the school community and is familiar with school culture and families
• Prior involvement with fundraising efforts is appreciated but not required
• Fundraising, sales, or outreach experience is helpful but not required
⏰ Time Commitment
• Planning varies by season, with increased involvement during active fundraising periods
• One (1) monthly PTO Board meeting
• One (1) monthly General PTO meeting
• Increased availability during the primary annual fundraiser (August/September)
