PTO Board Position | Voting Member | 2-Year Term

🎯 Role at a Glance
• The Events Chair is a voting member of the PTO Board who provides leadership for planning and overseeing PTO-sponsored events.
• This role works closely with the PTO Board, school Administration, staff, and volunteers to create inclusive, well-organized events that strengthen community and align with school priorities.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities
• Serve as an active, voting member of the PTO Board
• Lead planning, coordination, and oversight of PTO events throughout the school year
• Collaborate closely with school Administration to align events with school policies and schedules
• Develop event timelines, logistics, and volunteer needs
• Recruit, coordinate, and support event volunteers and committees
• Work with the Treasurer/Finance Chair to develop event budgets and track expenses
• Coordinate vendors, rentals, and event materials as needed
• Ensure events are welcoming, inclusive, and accessible to all families
• Lead post-event wrap-ups, documentation, and planning for future years

🕒 Term Length
• Two (2) year term
• Eligible for renewal per PTO bylaws

👥 Experience & Fit
• Ideally a parent or caregiver who has been part of the school community and has attended school events for at least one (1) year
• Familiarity with school culture, families, and event flow is strongly preferred
• Prior event planning experience is helpful but not required

⏰ Time Commitment
• Planning varies by season, with increased involvement leading up to major events
• One (1) monthly PTO Board meeting
• One (1) monthly General PTO meeting
• On-site leadership presence during PTO events
