SUBJECT: PTO Press-July 2026

A New Adventure Begins!

Welcome to a brand-new fiscal year for our organization! We hope your summer has been filled with sunshine, adventures, and plenty of time making memories with the people you love.

Our PTO team has welcomed some amazing new members, and we're excited to level up this school year together! Behind the scenes, we've already been hard at work planning events, programs, and a few surprises that we can't wait to share.

This year's adventures are going to be full of opportunities to connect, grow, and maybe even catch a little extra school pride along the way. We can't wait to see what this year has in store, so stay tuned because the adventure is about to begin!

41 days until the first day of school... but who's counting? 😉

🚨 AN IMPORTANT HEADS UP!!!!! 🚨

At the end of this month your account will be marked as “inactive” as we transition to the new school year. Once we receive updated teacher assignments, we’ll send out an email so you can log in and update your information. Your student will automatically roll over to the next grade level. You’ll just need to select their new teacher and update their shirt size for our super fun Fall Fundraiser and Fall Event!

(Gotta catch the fun on September 25th: SAVE THE DATE!)

Traditions and Tributes
July Reflections

by Vita Malama (Cultural Appreciation Coordinator)

July includes traditions and observances connected to independence, community, and cultural continuity. These may include Independence Day, which commemorates the founding of the United States and invites reflection on the nation's history and ideals; and National Disability Pride Month, which

recognizes the contributions, experiences, and leadership of people with disabilities. Summer also offers opportunities to learn from the land, water, and environment that sustain our communities, reflecting values of observation, stewardship, and connection found across many cultures and traditions.

Community Invitation: These monthly acknowledgements are intended to foster awareness and appreciation of the many traditions, observances, and histories represented within our community. They are not intended to be comprehensive. Families who would like to share additional cultural and community traditions are warmly invited to contact the PTO for future newsletters and community learning opportunities. pto.stemlab@gmail.com

Company Donor Matching=Double Your Impact!

As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, STEM Lab PTO may qualify for your company's matching gift program. That means your donation, or even the volunteer hours you contribute, could be matched by your employer at no additional cost to you, helping us provide even more opportunities for our students, staff, and school community.

If your workplace offers donation matching, employee giving, or volunteer grant programs, we'd love to be included! Check with your HR department or employee benefits portal to see if your company participates.

Native Land Acknowledgement

As part of our ongoing practice at STEM Lab, we honor and acknowledge that the land we are located on today is the traditional and ancestral homelands of the Cheyenne, Arapaho, and Ute Nations and peoples. Many different Native tribes have used this land for trade, hunting, gathering, and healing. We extend our respect to Elders past, present, and future, and to all those who have stewarded the land and water since time immemorial. We invite others to join us in this acknowledgment to renew and reaffirm First Nations’ history in Colorado and to pay tribute to these traditional homelands and their people.
