January Traditions & Observances

In January, many families observe traditions connected to reflection, renewal, and justice. Traditions and observances that may be acknowledged include New Year traditions, observed across cultures as a time to reflect and set intentions; Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which honors Dr. King’s legacy and the ongoing work of justice, service, and community; and Lunar New Year, celebrated in many Asian cultures and communities as a time of renewal, family, and good fortune.

As part of our ongoing practice at STEM Lab, we recognize that our school occupies the ancestral homelands of the Cheyenne, Arapaho, and Ute Nations and peoples, and that learning here is grounded in responsibility to community, place, and one another, values reflected in both Indigenous teachings and Dr. King’s legacy of collective care and action.

December In Kind Donors

A huge shout-out to everyone who donated to support our STEM Lab families this holiday season! Thanks to your generosity—along with our PTO’s $1,500 contribution—we were able to raise $2,880 to share directly with families in need.

We are constantly in awe of how much you do for our STEM community, not just during the holidays but all year long. Please know that your kindness and generosity do not go unnoticed, and they make a meaningful difference in the lives of our families.

Join us for our next Skate City Spirit Night on Tuesday, February 3rd, from 5:30pm-7:30pm (Westminster)! Spirit Nights are a fantastic way to build community, and Skate City events are always a big hit—fun, healthy, and engaging for the whole family! Plus, Skate City donates a percentage of the sales back to the PTO. Flyers and more information soon!
