Melissa Roder aka "Mrs. Roder"
We wanted to take a moment to appreciate one of STEM Lab's and STEM Lab PTO's longest-serving parents and volunteers. She and her family (four sons; a Junior and a Freshman at Horizon (STEM alumni), and two 7th graders at STEM) have been at the school for an incredible twelve+ years! Melissa has generously devoted her time, energy, and passion to our school, leaving her mark on the lives of countless students, families, and staff members.
In particular, her commitment to our PTO has been nothing short of extraordinary. Serving as President during the most difficult years (the Covid years), Melissa has played a pivotal role in fostering a sense of collaboration and purpose within our school community.
Beyond her invaluable contributions to the PTO, you may recognize her as "Mrs. Roder," as she has also served as a substitute teacher for your children. Her genuine concern for others has touched the hearts of many, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and camaraderie.
Melissa currently serves as one of our Fundraising Chairs on the board. This will be her last year on the PTO Board so she can spend her final year at STEM Lab in a more personalized volunteer capacity. As Melissa embarks on a new chapter in her journey, we want to express our deepest gratitude for her tireless dedication and selfless service. Her impact will be felt for years to come, serving as a shining example of the power of community and the difference that one person can make.
Melissa, your unwavering commitment to our school has been nothing short of remarkable. On behalf of the entire school community, we extend our heartfelt thanks for twelve+ incredible years of service (several of those on the PTO leadership team). You have made a profound difference in the lives of so many, and your legacy will continue to inspire us all.
